HARPON is the meeting of two crazy sound lovers, for sound has a unique power of evocation, deriving from cinema which has inspired them. During the improvisations of the sound designer Amandine CASADAMONT with her turntables and the composer Jean-Jacques BIRGÉ with his keyboards, fiction and documentary take shape by playing on the perspectives analogous to the size of shots in cinema, on the shot-countershot, on the ellipses that live editing make vertiginous, enigmatic abstractions that only music evokes.
Both know that improvisation is nothing more than the reduction of time between conception and interpretation. The palette of HARPON is an enormous variety of timbres and stories with which the duo juggles, favoring the instrumental gesture and the complicity of the game.
HARPON est la rencontre de deux fous du son et de son pouvoir d’évocation, d’autant que l’écriture cinématographique leur tient lieu de référence. Dans les improvisations de la créatrice sonore Amandine CASADAMONT aux platines vinyles et du compositeur Jean-Jacques BIRGÉ au clavier numérique, fiction et documentaire se construisent en jouant sur les perspectives et les grosseurs de plans, sur les champs-contrechamps, sur les ellipses que le montage en direct rend vertigineuses, abstractions énigmatiques que seule la musique suscite.
L’un et l’autre savent que l’improvisation n’est rien d’autre que la réduction du temps entre conception et interprétation. La palette de HARPON est d’une incroyable variété de timbres et d’histoires avec lesquels le duo jongle en favorisant le geste instrumental et la complicité du jeu.
