Lionel Martin - soprano & tenor sax
Jean-Jacques Birgé - piano, field recording & machines
The first release in the Musique No Borders collection, this Volume 1 is a tribute to Sidney Bechet (external link), the main source of inspiration for saxophonist Lionel Martin, also known as Madsaxx. For this debut album, he has enlisted the help of Jean-Jacques Birgé, a master of electronic and improvised sound. An album that transcends artistic boundaries, bringing together painting and music thanks to the collaboration with painter Robert Combas.
