Following the “Coup de Cœur” award given last January to the album Les déments, it is a great honor to participate in the Académie Charles Cros Prix In Honorem, awarded to Denis Lavant for his lifetime contribution to poetry and poets, on the occasion of the publication of Fiches de Franz Kafka (La Muse En Circuit) and the CD by the trio Les Déments featuring saxophonist Lionel Martin and Jean-Jacques Birgé (a project they both initiated and produced through their associated labels OUCH! and GRRR), in the "Recorded Speech, Documents & Sound Creations" category.

We are delighted to announce that the Charles Cros Academy has awarded its Coup de Cœur prize in the ‘recorded word’ category to the album LES DÉMENTS, featuring famous actor Denis Lavant, saxophonist Lionel Martin and Jean-Jacques Birgé. It is a double CD on which Denis Lavant recites texts by Marcel Moreau (1933-2020), André Martel (1893-1976), Xavier Grall (1930-1981) and André Schlesser (1914-1985). It is distributed by Inouïe. It can also be listened to and purchased on Bandcamp, and a clip can be viewed on Viméo. Recorded and mixed by JJB at Studio GRRR, it is a co-production between OUCH!, Lionel's label, and GRRR, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The artwork, featuring stains and eyes, was created by Ella & Pitr.

It's all about playing to meet each other, not the other way around as is customary. The virtual albums from which these creations originate are available exclusively online on this site or on Bandcamp. The theme of each piece is drawn just before the game.
